My Background
I am a trauma-informed therapist dedicated to providing relational, compassionate care for adults navigating complex and developmental trauma. I hold a Master’s degree in from San Diego State University and am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in Southern California.
Professional Clinical Counselors are mental health professionals trained to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals struggling with emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges. We use evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients navigate issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. We work in various settings, including private practice, community mental health, hospitals, and schools, focusing on client-centered, goal-oriented therapy to foster healing and personal growth. Our training emphasizes a holistic, strengths-based approach to mental well-being.
In a clinical setting, I integrate Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt, Existential Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support deep healing and self-discovery. My approach is rooted in the belief that therapy should be collaborative, empowering, and tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Through my clinical experience at The Family Guidance and Therapy Center of San Diego, I have worked extensively with adults and transition-age youth (TAY), particularly those facing trauma, neurodivergence, and relational challenges. I am also trained in Motivational Interviewing, which I use to help clients align their actions with their core values, navigate life’s existential questions, and foster meaningful change.
Beyond my clinical work, I am an active board member of CALPCC, advocating for the growth and development of the counseling profession. My background also includes extensive crisis intervention, supporting survivors of trauma, suicide, and loss. My professional interests include developmental trauma, and treating the ways in which developmental trauma manifests itself including attachment issues, emotional dysregulation, negative self concept, substance use issues, anxiety and depression.
I believe that healing happens in the context of a safe, trusting relationship where clients can explore their inner world without judgment. My goal is to provide a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to reclaim your life and move toward lasting growth.
